The White Carnation
This is a life cast sculpture of a woman holding carnations. The carnations were also life cast from real flowers.
The pose is elegant to me because she is unaware of the viewer. The Mona Lisa like smile gives the piece a real mystery. It’s not quite an action pose but it is not without movement. Almost like a moment in time during an event. Gathering flowers in the garden perhaps, or preparing to go to her lover.
The entirety is cast in urethane resin and is rather light and strong. Finished in beige with white flowers.
